David Hallberg was born in South Dakota and began his formal ballet training at the age of 13. Now an international ballet star, Hallberg's repertoire at American Ballet Theatre includes leading roles in Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, and Don Quixote, and in 2011, he became the first American dancer to join the Bolshoi Ballet as a Premier Danceur. On April 17th, he’ll be appearing at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater for “David Hallberg Presents: Legacy,” offering an intimate look at world-renowned ballet companies where he has performed extensively throughout his career, and which have left indelible impressions on him as an artist, including The Mariinsky Ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet, The Australian Ballet, and The Tokyo Ballet.
