Award-winning director Nancy Buirski discusses “Afternoon of a Faun: Tanaquil le Clercq” her documentary about the great American ballet star Tanaquil Le Clercq, who was a muse to George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins and was the foremost dancer of her day—until she was struck down by polio and paralyzed at the age of 27. “Afternoon of a Faun: Tanaquil le Clercq” opens at the Elinor Bunin Monroe Film Center at Lincoln Center February 5.
